You can seriously decrease the risk of a stroke by knowing what a stroke is, what your risk factors are and what to do if you experience a stroke. To help educate our patients, The Medical Center of Aurora offers free stroke risk screenings for the community.
Screenings and counseling include:
- Blood pressure testing
- Heart rate check
- Lifestyle recommendations
- Individual risk assessments
- Stroke signs
- Symptoms and prevention information
- Information on what to do if a stroke occurs
- Completion of the File of Life, which contains health and emergency contact information
- Stroke action plan
We ask our patients to bring cholesterol results from their most recent cholesterol test.
Screenings are held at 1390 Potomac St., Suite 116 (H2U meeting room), Aurora, Colorado, 80012.
